The time has finally arrived to begin the process of opening our orthodontic office once again. Thanks for being patient during the government ordered shut down. We hope you are doing well and that your family is in good health and good spirits. This has been difficult for all of us. We are looking forward to seeing all of you once again very soon. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Getting back to a routine is welcome for all of us. The routine in our clinics will be slightly different than it was before. As with many businesses, you will notice a few changes. These changes are for the safety of you, your children and our staff. We closely follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), OSHA, MN Board of Dentistry, and the American Association of Orthodontics.

Updated Office Procedures

  1. We ask that each patient arrive AT their appointment time and not before or after. Patients can come directly to the office where an assistant, who will be with them for their entire appointment, will greet them.
  2. Before each appointment, a COVID screening questionnaire (click to download and print) must be completed for each patient and any adult escort. All patients and escorts will have their forehead temperature taken and recorded. Anyone that has a temperature above 100.4 ◦F will be asked to exit the office and reschedule their appointment.
  3. We ask that only the patient enter the office at the appointed time and that they wear a mask. If an adult caregiver needs to be in the office, we also ask that they wear a mask at all times.
  4. The brushing areas will be closed. Please thoroughly brush prior to your office visit. We will have each patient swish for 60 secs with a hydrogen peroxide rinse to reduce oral microbial population.
  5. We will update you with patient report cards to keep you informed about treatment progress.
  6. Our reception area has been greatly reduced. We will no longer have magazines, toys, or cell phone charging available and our coffee service is suspended.
  7. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing when you are inside the office. This might mean that you may be offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We have opened additional days at our Stillwater office location to minimize schedule disruptions.
  8. For the time being, appointments will be made by phone. Our goal is to minimize face-to-face interaction where possible and maintain social distancing.
