Diplomate - A Step Beyond

For someone to accurately identify and correct misaligned teeth and improper bite patterns, he or she must undergo extensive training and education. This education and training includes both doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. Dr. Henseler and Dr. Kocian of Henseler & Kocian Orthodontics went above and beyond and not only obtained the these degrees, but also achieved and maintain board certification with the American Board of Orthodontics

Becoming Board Certified Orthodontists

Like all orthodontists, Dr. Henseler and Dr. Kocian have completed a higher post-doctoral program in which they developed the skills necessary to practice orthodontics. The post-doctoral course requires trainees to attend school for an additional two to three years beyond the six to eight years required to practice general dentistry.

Our Doctors Are Board Certified

Board certification is a distinction held by approximately half of all orthodontists in the United States. To obtain certification from the American Board of Orthodontics, a specialist must put forth considerable effort in addition to running and maintaining a practice. For instance, specialists must past demanding oral and written tests and present a series of case studies of individuals they have successfully treated. The accreditation procedure can take as little as five years but as many as ten years.

Dr. Henseler and Dr. Kocian have opted to undergo the rigorous certification process so that they may provide better and more specialized treatment to their Woodbury and Stillwater orthodontics patients. When you choose to work with a specialist who has been certified by the Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, you are guaranteeing you receive the best possible care.
